Playsafe 2000

Playsafe 2000 (poured in place) is a seamless play area surface consisting of recycled rubber tire granular, combined together with a highly sophisticated polyurethane binder. Designed and installed by Ancaster Track & Tennis to meet and surpass all current C.S.A. standards.

Playsafe 2000 has been tested according to A.S.T.M. F-1292-99, C.S.A. and meeting CPSC standards for playground surfacing and providing a GMAX of less then 200 and a HIC of less then 1000. Playsafe 2000 has been tested by C.S.A. laboratories to meet all CAN/CSA-Z614-03 Standards on Children’s Playspaces and Equipment, A National standard of Canada. Tested in accordance with A.S.T.M. F-1292-99 Standard Specification for Impact Attenuation of Surface System Under and Around Playground Equipment.

STANDARD COLOURS: Terra Cotta, Forest Green, Black

Installation – Base Preparation

Playsafe 2000 can be installed on granular, asphalt or concrete surfaces.
When using a granular base, a minimum of 25 mm to 100 mm depth is required, compacted to a 95% proctor density. A water percolation rate of 60 litres/M2/hour. Should the rate be less, a french drain must be installed to provide adequate water flow. A geotextile between the granular base and surface is recommended (terrafix 200R).
Granular, asphalt or concrete surfaces require a slope of no less than 2% to drain, acknowledging that Playsafe 2000 is a water permeable surface.
Base can be sloped to 30 degrees within the installation area.

Thickness of Poured-in-Place

Thickness of the safety surface will be determined by the current CSA Standards for playground surfacing. Thickness of the rubber safety surface can range from 30 mm to 100 mm, meeting CSA and ASTM standards for playground surfacing.
